Well...I'll tell you about my last meetup/date last Friday night. We met, she was beautiful, smart, and funny, but then the topic got to what I do for a living. I knew what was coming because it's happened on dozens of other dates. Let's just say what I do is more blue collared than a lot of "professionals" care to associate with. I mean I don't clean out portable toilets or anything and if I was a "good old boy" living out in the country, it would be quite respectable but with the types of girls I like and see myself with longterm, it's a HUGE redflag...

The conversation usually goes like this: "Oh..." with a slight look of confusion. "How come you're not doing anything in your field?" so I have to come up with some BS story about how I like what I do... and from that point on, I can see the light in their eye fading.

That was the case on Friday but then things went south even more when she asked what the last country I visited was and I told her it was like 30 years ago and so all of a sudden in her mind I was a close minded underachieving hill billy.

And that was that.

Ironically enough, 10 years ago or so I met a Hispanic chick who actually worked in the blue collared field that I work in and as soon as she found out I had gone to college, she got all pissed off saying she didn't want to date any college boys and that was the end of that... I've seen some shit, but that one was just weird.

That's unfortunate.
You sound like a decent person online.
Perhaps you should be upfront about your situation before meeting these ladies.

Something similar happened to me.
Since I work in a professional field, people asked me about my parent's professions and when is the last time I traveled to Europe.
When I tell them that my parents have working class jobs and that I never travelled outside the US, they just stare at me and change the subject.

I'm just gonna get laid when I go back to college and take advantage of the "I am a student just like you, the struggle is real, now lets bone" status.

Then after college...well when that time comes I will figure it out then...lol...

That is a dangerous thing when you don't have DACA and can potentially give an evil person ammo to destroy you. More than 10 years ago, I met a Canadian who seemed nice enough and while talking, she actually figured out my situation...we had some drinks in us so perhaps my guards weren't as up but it turned out that this Canadian girl was a hardcore conservative and very anti-illegal because unlike us, **SHE** had to spend FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS on lawyer fees and she couldn't stand "fence jumpers".

She was nice to me and don't think she would have reported me but I really hated that she knew that about me...later on she became a citizen and married another right winger and just turned pure evil with her views and I was able to slowly put her out of my life but it's not a good idea to just out yourself.

There have been a few occasions that I made the choice to tell people once I knew they were not bad people. Even then, I'm at the age where women want a stable, established guy and not a work in progress. In my 20's, I had the cover of school and being young and could afford to be heading in the right direction and not established.

That's not to say I couldn't be in a relationship but I still have standards.
