White House officials have told key Republican leaders on Capitol Hill that President Trump is open to cutting a deal in an upcoming spending bill to protect young immigrants from deportation in exchange for border wall funding, according to four GOP officials briefed on the talks.https://www.washingtonpost.com/power...=.85fc5125bcab

Might as well do the Citizenship for $25b border security deal....wtf? Nobody gains anything from this stupid extension. We already renewed our DACA for 2 years.

Yes, but like I quoted on the other thread:

"A White House spokesman declined to comment. Talks are being led by senior policy adviser Stephen Miller and legislative affairs head Marc Short, according to the people familiar with the conversations"

Hill Rs say that WH would have to initiate a 3 yr DACA extension in omnibus bc their members will balk. That's what is happenign now. But leaders will need WH to lean in hard on this @rahcelmbade

3 year extension when we already have 2, so it's a 1 year extension...

I'm not even sure Democrats would go for a three-year DACA extension for wall money.

Seems like the earliest Supreme Court ruling on DACA would be June of 2019. Would Democrats be able to make a better, permanent deal if they had the House?

It's a question some may ask.

If he really wants full funding for the wall he will need to give us Citizenship.
He might be thinking long term like 10B for 3 years and once those 3 years expire another 10B

After last night's election, Trump knows that he's f*cked come midterms. If Dems take the House, he isn't getting his wall, or he's getting a much worse deal, he's trying to get it done now.

What if the 9th circuit blocks the court injuction that re-opened DACA though? Don't they have to rule next month?
