Sorry to bring this up again from all the way back from last year. But how do we prove that our parents (whether they are USC or not) have lived in the USA for 5 years? Do we just bring them bills from before 2013 with a US address or something? haha

With Daca you are able to request for military service postponement extension but you won't be able to after 24. So from here on if you're korean and have daca please go google this matter and apply for postponement extension ASAP

Hey thanks for responding to my question. I tried googling it but I couldn’t find anything. Do you have a link you could direct me to? Or can you tell me what I need to do?

And also I have been deferring it since I’ve been in school but how long can you get it extended if you have DACA?

Thanks in advance

you can check out the consulate page for more info.

i think you can extend indefinitely until you are excused for military service in korea

So if I have DACA, do I just have to bring my DACA acceptance paper and the EAD or something to the consulate to get extension past age 24?

If you're a Korean male, you can actually postpone your military duty regardless of your illegal(or DACA) status. You just have to visit the nearest Korean Consulate and prove that you have lived with your parents in U.S more than 5 years. But you MUST, MUST do it before you turn 26 years old. After that, basically you're accused for evading the country's mandatory military service, and the Consulate won't issue or renew your passport until you fulfill your duty. Unfortunately my boyfriend hadn't done so, and he's EWI with no passport. So, he won't be able to adjust his status thru AP even if we get married(I'm USC)
Can't he use AP to travel to some other country and then adjust?

It depends... if you are in school, there's a maximum age/postponement length for type of school - bachelors masters phd. I know of a friend who is working and was successful in getting his military service postponed until late 30's I believe. He is 28. (He postponed for 2-3 years when he was 24 for masters).

I am currently in a doctorate program so they gave me 6 years postponement. I had to get a letter from the school about the program, its length, and my anticipated graduation year along with proof of enrollment. (In addition to my ead and daca paper). I also did not have to provide any parents documents, but I did have to write down their info such as 주민등록번호 생년월일 passport number, etc.

There's an English. Pdf that may be beneficial for you. Here's the link

Why are Koreans here?

S. Korea is a beautiful country with lots of opportunities.

I work in the Auto industry and I would more there in a heart beat if I was a citizen there.
