Relocating to Richmond, CA

Hello fellow dreamers,

I will be relocating to Richmond, CA from Texas for work. Does anyone have some advice on what areas to live in? I don't want to live in a bad area but also not in a luxurious place because rents are so expensive.

Why is everybody moving to California? Rent in my area more than doubled in the last few years from everybody moving here
