They are in charge. They won the election and were put in place to do exactly that. We should actually feel grateful that the admin is actually considering legalization of dreamers. Why do you seem surprised about the 4 pillars? If I am going to be legalized I don’t want to live in a country that is not secure. And I don’t necessarily agree with doing ALL 4 at the same time so I do think Trump Admin should go for a one for one deal at the moment and pursue others later with comprehensive reform.

I'm not surprised and I'm certainly not grateful (especially because I have not seen any sincere effort from the administration to help us). The four pillars were added 100% to derail the deal. GOP leadership does not want to help us without completely revamping the whole immigration system. And you can make an argument that some of it is needed, but it doesn't have to happen at the same time as giving us permanent relief.

We (current DACA holders) are a tiny sliver of the undocumented community and arguably the sliver that is most educated, most vetted, and best integrated into American society. If the Orange Ape's administration and his GOP scum wanted to help us they would have already done so with their across-the-board majority. The fact that nothing has happened for us and how they are piling controversial CIR items on top of our case speaks volumes to their intentions and state of mind.

Politicians do not believe in realism, level headedness, and sensibility.
