Has she done her 2019 taxes? When did she do them?

2018 last. I haven't filed her 2019 yet. Was trying to file her as my dependent but waiting to see how some of the bills in the congress line up and if it makes sense to file her as an independent tax payer for one more year.

P.S. - I haven't filed my 2019 yet either but got stimulus payment based on 2018.

Does she have an SSN valid for work?

Good point. I think it says "Not valid for work" but she has been paying taxes regularly and I thought as long as you have a SSN, you are good.

One of the requirements is to have an SSN that's valid for employment, that's why her status says she isn't qualified for the payment.

I haven't gotten mine. I did not file 2019 yet & when I enter 2018 AGI & money paid into IRS, it says it doesn't recognize my info. Anyone experience that?

So for those of us who have an SS that says "Not for employment", would you suggest we get a new SS that allows for employment with a work permit?

You should update your status with the SSA.
