I have BOA and Chase. Never had a issue. If you travel you will need a big bank to access your money.

Well if you're privileged enough to have all the paperwork they require and you want to give that information to them, more power to you. I'm pointing out that neither of those banks are immigrant friendly.

Chase requires non-citizen/non green card holders to have a passport and disclose their country of citizenship and further scrutinize them depending on that. Mexicans with their Matricula card can also show that, but for everybody else, including DACA holders, they have to have a passport. That is not a requirement for banks to ask. Chase just took it upon themselves to say FU to immigrant customers.

Bank of America goes a step further and even requires you to disclose if you're a dual citizen, even if you're a US citizen already. One of my relatives had to show their green card to them to open an account 15 years ago before any other banks did that.

It's your money and your conscience so do as you will but I will never give these banks any business again. As far as traveling goes, Credit Unions also have a national network of ATMs and even branches. If you're with one credit union in your city, there are other credit unions around the country that let you do in person bank services should you need it, but again, now days with everything online, there isn't a whole lot big banks can do that credit unions and smaller banks can't. If you do a lot of international travel then again, more power to you.
