AFAIK, green card by itself (plus under 37) is not safe since you are still a Korean citizen (assuming you do not have a valid extension).

I've had mine extended for a couple of more years due to education purposes, but they (the military) always call me now and then to make sure the extension is valid and to keep track of my korean home address. Seems quite serious.

USC is fine - they don't see you as their "own" anymore.

I don’t mind losing my Korean citizenship since I barely remember that country hah.

So I shouldn’t have any issues getting my GC through marriage AoS even if I don’t have a valid extension for the Korean military service right? As long as I have the I-94 that proves I entered through a valid port of entry? I guess I’m just worried that they’ll deny my AoS or something because of the mandatory military fiasco.

I would think so, but if you are under 24, you still have time to apply for an extension. Otherwise, just don't go to Korea, I heard many news about people literally caught in the airport and dragged into military because they didn't know about these kind of issue.

Yeah, Im 27. I plan on avoiding S. Korea until I'm either a USC and/or 37 years old anyway. As long as I can get my GC after my fiancee and I get married, I will be happy and actually be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
