It is incredibly dangerous because other Parliamentarians in the future can make random rules too just because they want to and gridlock the Senate even more.

In fact, if the requirement is "bipartisan"ship for Reconciliation, then no Reconciliation bills will ever pass again in the future. If there was bipartisanship you don't need Reconciliation in the first place you'd just pass the bill normally.
Schumer should fire and replace.

I see lots of comments on Twitter how jamming immigration into a budget/spending bill is not right. The more traction that gets, the more chance the moderates get swayed away from potentially voting to give it the 50 vote it needs if by some miracle a new parliamentarian is assigned and allows it.

Lotta hoops still left. And th first one is 200 feet in the air held my Schumer's bony politican hand.

Sure, master. I will follow thy orders.

That is the hope but if the Parliamentarian is just going to make up random rules and those random rules are now within the Parliamentarian's power to reject bills, then no one can pass a bill via Reconciliation because the Parliamentarian can keep making up random rules (unless of course the Parliamentarian wants a bill to pass).

The only way the Parliamentarian should be able to reject immigration or any bill for that matter is if it doesn't have anything to do with the budget and the Parliamentarian didn't do that. The Parliamentarian rejected based off a new rule "bipartisan"ship that doesn't exist in the Byrd rule.

Imagine a judge walks up to you in a restaurant, say you're under arrest, you say for what? Judge says because your name started with an V and ends with a 8. You say "but there's no such law" and the judge says it doesn't matter you're going to jail because I just thought of this new law. How does that make any sense?

I’ll be fair. I like the fact Democrats will keep trying with alternative proposals, but good God just remove her ass or ignore her. She is out of line. Cmeow is on point.

Legalization is for “freedom” (she actually mentions this in her ruling). Hence, it’s not just numbers and too big of a transformational change to be in reconciliation.

Sad, but not surprising.
Bottom line, she disagrees w immigration reform/legalization; the numbers don't lie and they are on our side.
GOP math is always like that.
'75% of Americans know someone ill or who died from Covid'
GOP math: ah, only 10%...

If she went outside of her scope in her "ruling", Dems will have reason to replace her and not lose public opinion.

Dems needs understand that if they let down the immigrant community after setting such expectation, this will suppress voter turn out. Who wants to vote for Do-Nothing Dems. Those who can vote wont bother taking the time to do so.

I was not expecting someone who's supposed to be non-political to make such a political move and just not a political move, a move that gave Parliamentarian way more power.
The Senate is a 60 vote body for most legislation.

Get over it

Dems won't kill the filibuster.

The use the so called "Jim Crow relic" when they are in the minority but when they are in the majority, Republicans are the bad guys.

Left wing liberalism is a mental disorder lol

This country is great because we have so many checks and balances.

No amount of college Leftists anti American anti West culture can erase it.

It's "We The People..." not let's find a way out of the rules to get what we want. Democrats knew this would happen.

If they were truly serious, they would get the mess the created at the Southern border under control.

Biden-Harris is slowly getting into Carter Administration territory: so unpopular most Dems are already distancing themselves from him.

But did you guys see AOCs 2k dress at the Met Gala and the "free" 32k ticket (pretty much a bribe under ethics rules)? Yeah that will show those evil rich people hahahahaha

This. Start small and over the years we will start to see changes in elections.

American government is special by design.

The USA Constitution is one of the oldest still in use TODAY.

If you don't think American society/government is special amongst all nations, them WHY do you think your parents brought you here?

I'm a Mexican national and let me tell you no amount of Mexican "pride" will give me the privilege and blessings that come from being in the USA and enjoying the prosperity that we have here due to the rule of law, which my native country DOESN'T have.

Mexicans need a revolution, daily protests until every cartel is either imprisoned or declared an enemy of the state. Ignorant citizens also are holding the country back and backwardness.

This country might have done a lot of bad but people are literally dying to get here.

Wake the hell up!

The media hates Republicans because they are the only ones left trying to keep this country a REPUBLIC.

Australia confiscated it's citizens guns in the 90s and now they are throwing people in COVID-19 quarantine zones

Look at Europe too, Germany opened its borders to so called"refugees" to atone for it's Nazi crimes but they ended up pissing every other EU country off because these people don't care about national borders, just demanding to be let in.

People are tired of seeing their nations walked all over in the name of "don't be racist accept us and shut up"
