No, it's wrong for those that wield power (like those is congress) to bend the rules and the law (Yes, the "Byrd rule" is an actual law) to get their way. Although we might benefit from it now, it can come to harm us in the future.

It's like a Mayor of a town threatening the Police Chief for investigating one of their friends. It's corrupt.

And Manchin and Sinema will never vote for reconciliation if Democratic leadership decides to fire the parliamentarian. You stick the immigration provisions onto reconciliation that way and the whole thing goes down in flames.

And this is why GOP accomplishes more than the Democrats; their willingness to bend the law. The GOP consistently gets away with corruption. The two parties follow separate rules and code of ethics. I don't want the Democrats to become more corrupt (it's one of the reason I will never vote Republican), but they need to take real political gambles to make changes in the current political atmosphere.
