No problem with this bill. Just provide a waiver for the 10-year ban, so we can adjust by other means other than marriage.

Democrats may be a lot of things:
  • Too woke for their own good
  • Too chicken to act
  • Not have the stomach for a fight
  • Favor the marginalized group that's in fashion instead of who really needs help

But at the end of the day, I would take the worst Democrat (including Manchin and the crazy lady) over the "best" Republican. There is a HUGE difference between the above and actively trying to deport every last one of us or at the very least make our lives a complete waste and so miserable that we'd self deport the way Republicans are.

Even before Trump, don't forget that the former Republican candidate for president was "Good Guy" Mitt Romney. Take a good look at Romney (LOOK AT HIM!)...he looks like an angel compared to Trump. He's so compassionate compared to Trump...and also who coined the phrase "Self Deport".

When it's time to vote against immigration, all the Republicans from the Nazi wing to the "good guy" wing always line up to vote against immigration. There may be one or two who vote for it when they know it won't pass of course to give the impression that there are "Good Guy" Republicans.

Quite simply because we're not in a begging position. It's been near damn 12 yrs since dems controlled both houses and the presidency and they're doing fuck all with it.

Missing the funeral is not really the issue, not being able to go meet them while they are still alive is...

They should have at least included free travel and the ability to adjust by other means.

So no, fuck you slow learner.
Well I'm thankful (Obama) for that and that was 10 years ago. Can't you agree that Dems are playing with our lives and only talk about Dreamers when they need votes? When they actually have control and can act to pass something they don't. They fucked us even when Trump agreed to give us something over wall money.

So yea, Fuck Dems and yea I am a slow learner. It took me way too long to realize to say this lol.

I don't see the point in you guys fighting in this forum. We are all mad, tired , and beyond frustrated at this point.

Please, let's stick to the subject at hand. Let's continue talking about what's in this provision and let's continue to follow the progress on this.

All this mindless infighting is nauseating.

We are all in this boat together, whether we like it or not.

Well that's great for you that you're not in a begging position because you have DACA, but I and a few millions of my friends are in fact in a begging position and are just surviving right now. Some days it's barely surviving. It would be nice to also join you up in your non-begging position, and it would guarantee that you also would not fall down to my begging world for at least 10 years should DACA be brought down in the courts.

Well no, we are not exactly in the same boat. Thanks to the arbitrary rule of DACA which has a hard age limit of 30 as of 2012, there are now two classes of Dreamers- one with DACA who get a nice Real-ID driver's license, can travel freely within the US, don't have to worry about getting deported if they're pulled over, can get a real job, pay taxes, adjust their status in some cases without fear, and live their dream with their only fear being that DACA can be taken away...and then there are the older Dreamers who got left out and only watch the success of the chosen Dreamers from a distance and just watch themselves get older without any retirement, no real job and the gap gets bigger and bigger.

Now here comes a last ditch effort with low chance of passing that can throw a life raft for the rest of us along with some of your own parents and keep our head above water and give us some legal relief and a chance at life and having hopes and dreams but oh no, that's not good enough for the Chosen Dreamers of the forum. It doesn't do enough for them other than make their one worry that DACA might be taken away from them not be a worry anymore. How can you reason with people who have already have a nearly full plate while their brothers and sisters are starving but are against others getting fed because they won't get a full plate? I'll just call it out, it's selfish and is no different than immigrants who become citizens and kick the ladder for others.

I am sorry, you and the other Dreamers bitching about Dems talking about immigration only when they need votes are FUCKING DELUDED.

YOU ARE DELUDED OUT OF YOUR MINDS!

Immigration is a loser for Democrats, do you understand this, does it sink through? It literally was one the biggest driving factors behind Trump's rise, who 0rose by talking about building a fucking wall to KEEP ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS OUT.

People who get galvanized about this issue are people who don't want immigrants. The illegal immigrants who would vote in favor... CANNOT VOTE!

Until recently, Democrats could at least comfort themselves at the idea that Hispanics voted based on immigration, but over the last few cycles, they have suffered major electoral losses among hispanics for a slew of reasons and that has proven that even with that group, immigration isn't the be all end all that was supposed to be.

Dems suffered losses among latinos in Florida who didn't like the Democratic rhetorical adaptation of the word socialism. They suffered losses in the big hispanic belt in Southern Texas on the border with Mexico that shattered their hopes of turning that state blue. They suffered among hispanic groups throughout the country, because they felt Democrats didn't care for them when they adopted inane slogans like Defund the Police.

Right now, when it comes to your legalization, Democrats are the only game in town and they are doing it despite the fact it's a political loser.

Right now, it's a matter of arithmetic. They don't have the votes to overrule the parliamentarian, despite the fantasy some people harbor and they are grinding to get Manchin's vote on the rest of the bill. This is the best chance we will have for a long time.

Grow the fuck up!

Btw, the Republican party has moved even further to the right. In 2013, they found 10+ GOP votes for Senate Reform in the Senate. And they were this close to passing it in the House, but they lost all appetite after Cantor was defeated by Blatt in the primary.

This year, not one Republican would have voted for CIR. And some people are seriously discussing whether it's better to prefer Republicans on this issue.
