Yep, nothing to say. Especially if you are a freelancer. How can they find out? All they care about is that they can 1099 you, which they can and will.

If it was a W2 job then perhaps they may know it's expiring and may even ask you to go on leave until it gets renewed (I've seen it happen before). Otherwise if they don't say anything then you don't say anything and simply wait for the renewal.
