but i would look at the ending as.. something along the borders of having the kid, denied of something, for example; college or work companies closing the door on him (literally) and before that you show the kid making the honor roll or getting a 4.0, and the irony is he cant even get scholarships or get a job. also that bachelors degree is a good idea, something like he gets it, has a serious amount of debt and in the end, he doesn't get the job, and someone else who is less qualified gets it. tragedy thing is good as well, cuz it seems like he just wasted everything, he never got anything done after, he received his degree because Dream didnt pass.

-story should definitely be first
-then the facts about how 65,000 students graduate every year..etc. etc.
- have someone do the dialogue for the facts at the end, but the story could be no sound, just the pictures, so the audience could visualize what we are going through.

*who ever is in charge of this, i am willing to help, in any way i can, i just do not have the right programs, neither do i have an apple comp. but i would love to help in the process making as far as scenes and ideas.

Actually, max is for doing stuff like my car here

(which i'm currently working on), rendering and animation. Not sure what is good for video editing, as I am not a video geek. Also, do you know for a fact that macs a better for video editing? Or is that what you've been led to believe? :P No offense, but I think macs are waaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. They sure look nice though...

I'd like to see the final product of this and write about it in my blog for publicity!

cadman sorry bout that, its not 3d studio max, it was something else i think it was vegas studio, but Mac's are better for music composition and video editing i know that for sure. ive done video work on pc's and in school i did video work on mac's and Mac's are waay better ..its overpriced, i kno, but if you got a mac and video editing software, and you know what you are doing, then you can work wonders. there is truly a difference. as far as everything else i like Pc's, thats why i got one. if you were serious about music or video editing i would get a mac, i almost took up video editing/film editing, in college, but switched my major. but teachers were already telling me to get a mac lol

It should follow one child..make it happy, sad (at 9/11 and stuff) and very dramatic..
The kid should look all innocent and American looking...
then have a turning point when the kid gets a degree but keeps getting denied.
and at this point the music should change..
and people would be in suspense like why is he/she getting turned away??
and then at the end dramatically he/she gets deported ..
and people watching would be like WTF ? I thought I was watching this white kid..

Oh that's a great idea about the doors thing..
It would be like 10 doors just closing each with a fancy title on it..

We should come up with a background, gender, race, age, and each of us who are interested can shoot a segment using a friend or relative as long as they look similar like same color hair, and mostly we would be showing them from behind or covered..

Like I could shoot a 10 year old because my brother-in-law is 10.. and someone else can shoot them at age 16, etc. etc...

I joined this forum specifically to learn about how the rejection of this legislation is directly affecting all of you and how I could possibly help. After listening to everyone's responses and ideas on this forum I grew very excited. I currently work for a political documentary company based out of Los Angeles.

We are currently in pre-production and are looking to create a short viral video, about the resent, rejection of the National DREAM Act. We are looking for individuals as well as immigration experts who are directly affected by the denial of this bill, who would be willing to be interviewed and share their views and experiences with us, so that we may tell the stories of ‘who’ these talented individuals are, and garner national attention.

We have established relationships with many national organizations, and have been very successful in pushing out our politically themed short videos on the internet. You can check out some of our work at http://bravenewfilms.org/

Please PM if you, or people you know would be willing to be interviewed for our piece. We are looking for folks from all backgrounds and experiences. Please get back to me with any insight or feedback.

Best,

La Mera Mera
