A lot of us have social security cards. We got them when we used to be documented.

Does your SS card have a "not valid for employment" stamp on it?

Welcome and stick around!

well it happened when i was 17....to make a long story short....i was rushed by a narcotics officer outta no where..
i did'nt know he was a a "peace officer" because he was in reg. clothing and failed to identify his self..anyway ...all he yelled was "stop!c'mere" I got scared and started walking faster...He caught up to me...I was so scared because in my hed i was thinking "OMG! what if this guy is a kidnapper or even worse,a rapist. So whtat i did was simply try to defend myself you know....
He could not take me down...we wrestled for a while then bam!!!!i was down and thinking to myself"i am not going out like this"so i picked up the nearest object i could find:a brick...and i went to hit him but i missed.thats when i found out he was a cop because by now both my hands were behind my back in handcuffs..sucks but its true.
When i went to court i told my public defender my side but it did'nt matter..I asked what was the best thing for me to do..because i wanted to fight it!!take it to trial...then she told me to just plead guilty because there was no way i was gonna win against a cop and if i lost the trial i would end up gettin the max. ammount time which is 4 yrs...
so i did..got out 1 week later..
went to juvenile hall for trying to defend myself from a guy that i did not know was a cop because he failed to i.d hisself..If i would have known he was a cop none of that would of happened....

Dam thats unfortunate, so wait your juvenile record is for assaulting the officer and not possession of narcotics right? When dream passes consult more than one lawyer, there is a section under dream that states we must be of "good moral character" and no drug charges so idk...ARe you a New Yorker? cuz that something that I would def do especially since he didnt ID himself. really sucks def consult a few lawyers about it.

Something doesn't seem right. Seriously, what was that cop thinking? You can't approach a woman alone like that. Your lawyer should have fought the charge. Especially if your record was clean and you had no drugs on your or anything, it shouldn't have been too hard to dismiss. Who in their right mind attacks a cop unless they didn't know and thought he was a rapist or something?

You should talk to a lawyer, take in your social security card and ask them what it means. It is extremely rare but some people found out they were actually citizens after they had been deported but that is extremely rare so don't get your hopes up. Also, ask them if that incident will keep you from adjusting later on.

USCIS doesn't really care that you have a 4 year old and if you are deported you should have a plan ready. Who are you going to leave her with that will care for her? You haven't been to your birth country since you were 3 months old, you would be lucky if you somehow managed to survive yourself. It will be near impossible and cruel to bring your daughter into those conditions and that vulnerable/dangerous of a situation.

Also it could have just been a screw up on the part of the INS/SSA at the time of issuing it as my dad has a card without the NV for E stamp on it.

As to everything else, consult a lawyer who specializes in immigration.
