I work as a registered nurse in a skilled nursing facility.
I am hoping to get in to a hospital though. Just so hard to get in.

I was thinking I would find a job like right after I got my EAD, BOY WAS I WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG(applying everywhere since April 20), It seems like in my city unless u have a hook up or one year of experience its damn near impossible. I refuse to give up tho what pisses me off is I had two call backs but ugh something went wrong before the second interview ON BOTH!!!!!!! But like last week or the week b4 that I went to brandsmart and wasn't aware that I would be interviewed right after I filled out the application. Long story short the guy basically kinda talked down to me. If I was a weak person I woulda cried lol. He said to me you are 21, u have no work experience, not in school, what were u doing with your life all this time(in a demeaning voice)? I was thinking if u only knew smh

Guys! Dont ever under estimate yourselves. At one point I felt like I had nothing to offer and I was putting myself down but then I realised that I do have previous experience that highlight my skills. Also if you have no experiemce volunteer. Go to your library, local clinic, recreation center etc. and just go out and do something. Put that on your resume and it looks great! Good luck guys! : )

I was working for a non-profit fundraising but I just landed a job at an optometry office as a receptionist/ optician.

I'm having or I've had interviews with several companies this week: Starbucks, Whole Foods, Nordstrom, T-Mobile, AT&T, Best Buy, a call center position, and an office job.

I will have a lot of experience in being interviewed by the end of the week haha. I really believe that I will score a job with one of those companies. If I am offered a position by several of those companies, it will be hard to decide which one to take!

BTW, I do have about 6 years of retail experience (but that was pre DACA days), which is why I believe I was able to score some of these interviews.

retail sucks.

A job sucks, so as long as YOU allow it to be that way. For the most part, retail has given me valuable people skills and others that I know will be useful to me when I begin my career (which doesn't not involve retail). For any job, retail or not, ones attitude plays an important role in whether he or she will find fulfillment or success. It has worked for me and many others as well
