I was a couple of months over 21 (I was just 2 months over 21 when the first of both of them attended the Naturalization ceremony and officially became a citizen) and I am not covered by 245i. I could adjust here if I got married but I refuse to consider that option. I'm using my story as an example that the DA even benefits the undocumented kids of US citizens and I do not like when people try to spread misinformation and stereotypes like BimmerFan intended to do. This should put to rest the stereotype that only the undocumented children of "illegal immigrants" will benefit from the DA, that is a flat out lie.

That sucks. You were so close for one of your parents to sponsor you.

Haha, I'm in the same about at DbR --

My mom became as USC when I was 21 + a few months.

Headbanger moment.

Heck, looking back there are a ton of headbanger moments where my status could've been adjusted without coming to this dead end where I'm at.

It was tough but I got over it and I figured that's life. If the Dream Act passes, I will throw my support behind CIR because I know what it's like to be left behind as I know those that don't qualify for the DA would feel left behind if it passed.

Actually your mom can sponsor you but you would have to serve 10 year ban and then wait 10+ years to get a Visa right?

That's why this whole US Immigration system needs an overhaul, and there needs to be more readily accessible detailed information for prospective applicants. Most people that end up stuck did not have complete details on their cases because some of the extra clauses are hard to find and you only find them out as your case progresses.

Yeah, I have TWO(!!!) approved I-130 petitions sitting by my desk. One already has a current visa date (ie: immigration visa available) and the other one will become current in a few years. All I need to do is leave for 10 years :/

I guess I'll get my degree in 3-4 semesters and then see if I can get a job somewhere for 10 years and then come back.

One must be 24-35 a.k.a. Big Daddy Dreamer status to qualify for residency. All others must wait until they achieve said status to qualify unless one has a 4.0 GPA or is taking 6 AP classes.

Oh ok. In the next 10 years, DA/CIR has a much better chance of passing so I would stay.
