I ended up having to fly on the same day that my ID was to be delivered. My flight was early in the morning though, so I had to use my passport (with my EAD as backup). I've heard stories of people using EAD's and the TSA agent asking a supervisor before letting the person through. If your ID doesn't arrive on time, I would suggest using a passport, since they're more used to those. You should be fine either way.

Yeah, well thats the plan now. I'm going to have to fly just using the EAD as ID as its a U.S. Federal Government ID and according to the TSA website it should be good enough. Unfortunately I do not have a passport so the EAD is my only viable option. As backup I will also be taking my DACA and EAD approval letters as well as my SS Card and my temporary DL issued by the DMV.

I'm just royally annoyed because there is absolutely no need for me to take all this shit had the damn DMV gotten my shit to me on time. Granted, theres still time but I highly doubt i'll get my ID and or DL before Friday when I am set to depart.

Hopefully I don't run into any issues with TSA and the EAD, has anyone else tried flying with just their EAD as ID? I would really appreciate any additional info/experiences with this.

I tried calling TSA to verify but they only have an automated system and they don't specify the EAD as one of their acceptable ID's, they do say; "Non-US/Canadian citizens are not required to carry their passports if they have documents issued by the U.S. government such as Permanent Resident Cards."

The work authorization card is not a permanent resident card but it is a document issued by the U.S, Government. I figured that was good enough. :\

Ugh srsly. I was about to pass. But then as I was entering the DMV, these kids came out of no where and kept getting in front of me (YES AT THE DMV, THEY WERE LIKE 10 YEARS OLD) , and my asshole of an instructor kept yelling at me, DO YOU NOT SEE THESE KIDS, SLOW DOWN. Ugh. fjdshfuodsfhuodshfuodshf

Going to Wesminster instead. Santa Ana is ugly. /spite
