First of all, there are too many checkpoints in NM. Secondly, I don't know anyone who lives in Mexico and lastly, I do not have enough documents.

wait a minute. Sooo what exactly happens if a cop stops you and sees you have a license from another state? Like the license doesn't match the insurance you know? This is getting complicated. =\

In most states you can't register a car with a license from a different state.
You have two options:
1. Register you car in the state that you got your license in and drive in your state with out-of-state license plates - its ok.
2. Drive someone else's car.

If you are driving an insured car - you are good. Unless it's a stolen insured car.

Some states let you register a car there even if you have an out of state license. You can call your DMV and check. Also, if you rent a car and then it's already insured.
