Its not really pessimism...its bad experiences...some of us have been down that road before of getting overly excited by what some politician said, sounding all reassuring and crap...only to leave us hanging.

Im sure he is right, it will defenetely pass, question is WHEN.

Aren't cap and trade & financial reform supposed to be next?

Cap and trade was passed in the House in June but has yet to be even discussed in the Senate.

listen Juan i know your trying to be realistic but the truth is Obama has been working hard on this health care thing and he is delivering. slowly but surely is better than fast and half assed, any day i feel like I'm the king of negativity sometimes but i know for a fact that there are other very rich people that stand to gain from the dream act passing and other similar legislation it does have a good chance when it will pass not even the angels in heaven know but i know it will! I'm not too excited it just gives us a breath of fresh air to take in and it definitely won't be taken lightly

thanks dream 2007
and good luck with helping Juan Sepulveda

First of all, good luck with the trip if it materializes.

Whenever a politician tells you stuff like what you've describe it is not out of sincerity; it is not even the truth. The single objective is to keep you down for longer, and longer, ad infinitum.

The DREAM Act, people tell us, is being used as a selling point on comprehensive reform. This is a great way to pass nothing at all. When a larger bill fails it is easy for legislators to divert attention from themselves and point fingers to other factors. All in order to keep you down for longer - to maintain the status quo.

Both political parties are interested in maintaining the status quo, because they have absolute power over you. A situation with which they are very comfortable. You, on the other hand, should focus on gaining power. The DREAM Act is your rights, the DREAM Act is your power. Take this power and comprehensive reform becomes a reality. Without that power both DREAM Act and CIR are doomed to failure. We cannot fight the fight from within the shadows.

Thanks for informing us.

We know they care about immigration because They held those meetings in the white house, even though one meeting got pushed back, it shows they are taking the initiative.

I think the problem that most of us have is "When will that be?"

When know President Obama and congress have stated they will tackle immigration, but after healthcare. Healthcare is taking way too long and there is no relief in sight.

If healthcare takes up time were looking at midterm elections and before you know it we will have more reps and less dems.

I don't think it's fair to call someone a pessimist because they're skeptic. The DA has failed so many times that obviously some of us have learned not to get our hopes up. Don't take it personally, I think it's ok to have different reactions to the post.

Nick, what you said makes a lot of sense. It's just that hearing what Mr. Sepulveda said just gave me some piece of mind and I wanted to share it with everyone. But what you just said is probably the ugly truth about the situation...
