"I don't want to be a pessimist, the world wont end, but life will get harder. I wrote in an earlier post about choosing our degrees carefully; to be more flexible."

Sad reality, but it's the truth. The biggest concerns I have for our future include:
- Energy independence
- Gasoline Prices
- Food/Resource Prices
- Population Growth
- Climate Change
- The economy and reducing the deficit
- And lastly, immigration policy.

The government has to stop spending in fraudulent research as fast as possible. They spend billions of dollars in research alone. They have to understand that they are over researching.

*I say: Cut the spending in research that is not necessary.

*Start making legislature to prevent education prices from going up, and actually bring the education prices of those who have already borrowed money down. But it has to done this year. otherwise bankrupt for the country is inevitable.

*The U.S citizens put them selves in debt in order to get an education. Well, that concept is wrong.

*Make legislature to stop CFO's, CEO's, and people at the top getting those big bonuses. They are not gonna do nothing good with that money. Give it to the working class.

You silly buns.. how would capturing Bin Laden end terrorist attacks?

Waldo Bin Laden doesn't really have a direct hand in the attacks. There are different cells forming around the world without Bin Laden's aid. They share an "ideology". The attacks in the Russian metro trains were not from Bin Laden, but from Chechnya nationals; oppressed by the Russian military.

Same goes for the parcel bombings sent to various embassies in Europe, that was from Greek freedom fighters.

But anyways, to each their own. I'm gonna go feed my dog.

Well, it may not end the terrorist attacks but it would at least bring justice to a murderer.

Someone else would step forward to take Bin Laden's place. He is in poor health and it won't be long before he would lose his life due to natural causes. We just had two packages that exploded in two government buildings in Maryland. It was on CNN for most of the day today.

eh, white collar crimes are the biggest that go unpunished "wink wink"; let's get to them first.

The bombs in Maryland, I doubt they are foreign.. more like domestic.

The war on Afghan is OK if they capture Osama Bin Laden, but I doubt they will. They shouldn't have let him scape in the first place.

I say: long live the US. Stop the GOP from keep bringing the country down, and pass the dream act.
History will show that the Iraq war was the most needed war once it is looked at in 25 years. First reason is because you put a democracy right in the middle of the middle east. Democratic countries do not go to war with there neighbors that is one of the biggest reasons, Secondly we let all the radical Muslim foreign fighters Al Quieda in Iraq come into the country from all over from Saudi Arabia , Egypt, Iran all over the middle east countries that have a radical element come on in. And we killed them
them like dogs like they call us equivalent to a dog in the language of there religion. There was time there during my second tour of duty its seemed like that everyone we killed seemed have identification from some other country mostly Saudia Arabia. These fighters were coming over all the borders on each side by the thousands everyday and everyday they died a horrible death we never let up we tracked them found them and killed them eventually the message got through to people like Sadr militia sponsored by Iran. You cant win and that was the purpose and just think of how many of those guys we actually killed between 2005=2008 probably between 160k -200k of them. And they will never harm anyone again. The Iraq War was strategically a brilliant war. Afghanistan will take longer but Obama has surprised me with the number of attacks by Drones he is taking action on . There blowing up radical Muslims everyday. We wont be able to turn Afghanistan around completely but if we have bases there like we are going to have in Iraq we have presence and a say what goes on. Republican and democrats are one in the same as soon as you figure that out you will be far ahead of the game.

Bin laden has been reduced to a man using paper message sent by runners. Everyone blamed bush why have we not killed bin laden have not heard a word of that from Obama who criticized Bush. Bin laden is not in the Pakistan tribal areas he is in Iran sitting in a nice house watching the world go by and being protected by Iranian forces. This idea he is in a cave some where is nonsense.

I didn't read all of the post but the reality is that most of this deficit is cause by two things. Not the military, not wasteful research, not bailing the banks, not giving food stamps, not anything like that. Want to know they are Medicaid and the Social Security.
They account for 23 and 22 percent of the budget and that's not the real problem. The problem is that this two programs are projected to double in two years. Now you can make all the cuts you want military save maybe 1 percent of the budget (let's be real) wasteful research 2 percent if we eliminate all research more likely like a cut of .2 percent, safety net programs 4 percent if you totally eliminate food stamps and cut all kinds of programs. That's maybe 6 percent and in two years we would probably be even more in the hole. The funniest thing about our situation is that we are going to pay for all those racist old timers that don't want us here. Because like it or not we are the only way they have to pay for those two programs.

But to the point if congress wanted to really lower the national budget by 20 percent eliminating the 1.4 trillion deficit and probably creating a real jump start on the economy they should rework medicaid and social security. But no congressman is going to touch those two dinosaurs because they won't get elected if they do. So get ready for higher taxes and less services in 10 to 20 years.
