Come on now it is straight politics. The democrats don't want anything to pass that way they can keep blaming republicans and making an election issue of it.
i will apply forit if rubio bill pass so i can get social security. i dont care if i be illegal again cuz as long as you have social security u should be fine right?

the problem with rubio, it requires u to work in high skill field and irreplace able by american workers. i want to become policeman so it doesnt apply to me

[mod edit]

I agree we don't need handouts, but I plan on graduating from college and going to the military for 4 years. I really want citizenship, and with the current DREAM act that is what I would get. But it really would not make sense for them to vote down Rubio's proposal on grounds that there is no direct path to citizenship. Also I would like to add that it is wrong to say such disrespectful things about them based on speculation. I don't disrespect Rubio when I speculate that he is going to serve out a really strict proposal pandering to the Tea party, which we all despise. So please have some decency. If when it does come out and she votes against it say whatever you want, but right now she hasn't done us wrong. She is merely fighting for the original DREAM act.

Obama's DHS and DOJ deny prosecutorial discretion to people rooted in this country for decades; continue to racial-profile Hispanics, then go after them like dogs in court; Federal Circuit Judges in the 9th circuit rule that adminstrative closure for non-criminal "aliens" is ridiculous, while the administration was cooking such f***king policy behind closed doors; and to top it off, they want Dreamers to continue to wait and be perpetual students and "kids".

News to everyone here and elsewhere, a 30 yr-old man or woman is NOT A KID. Many Dreamers have not pursued higher education or cannot afford higher education; many Dreamers are parents and the PURPOSE of the Dream Act is to gain residency through the pursuit of education. To believe that DAP is representative of Dreamers is a delusion, 2000+ members is nothing compared to the close to 2 million estimated DA beneficiaries. Half-cooked is the idea that a Dreamer will age out of any relief when Obama and the Dems won't lift a finger to pass legislation that protects from removal and grants temporary relief to people rooted in this country.
Hopefully the new proposal addresses that like the old one did. Where education will be the motivation for legalization, and not the condition.

First of all it hasn't come out and no bill before this said you had to be a scientist that will find a cure for cancer in order to be legalized so stop worrying about that. Going to a police academy is education, but unfortunately I don't think we can apply to a police department with a non-immigrant visa. Which I share that worry with you. But you will be able to work at Mcdonald's and other places legally with that visa until you can get permanent residency. So don't disqualify this bill just because it won't give you direct citizenship, and also it has nothing to do with your skills, but whether you are willing to contribute to society by seeking either military or education.

And if you become illegal again I'm pretty sure your social security number would become worthless, but I'm an EWI so I'm not well versed on the matter.

Also I do not think we have to censor ourselves, but we should conduct ourselves with a certain level of class. I'm sure if you are cursing here so consistently and belittling people whether it is a fellow dreamer or a politician you have not read the forum rules. Please do so, and have some class, but most of all have some respect.

Are you kidding me? Votes against it? Dude, when is the last time you took American Government? She is not even in congress.

As for the school and military, wouldn't Rubio's idea allow you to pursue that path?

What you need to do is kick back. I am not going to respect anyone who is trying to politicize the issue for political gain. She is already slamming an alternative that could possibly be fair. Her rhetoric is wrong and can influence the way things play out. Read Plato's work on plebiscitary rhetoric. So, you should contact your lady and ask her to have some decency as well. Tell her to stop contributing the politicization of our lives. It's ok if she wants to defend the original DA. But, she shouldn't fuck us over by wiping her ass with an idea that could result in bipartisan relief.

If she has no vote then why does her opinion even warrant such verbal abuse? True I didn't know who she was, but I'm referring to the amount of disrespect you show her. This is politics and that is what is gonna happen. She isn't my lady just because I defend people doesn't me I support them. I just completely disagree with your method of rationalizing political works. She is entitled to her opinion whether or not you disagree. Your rhetoric is wrong and you can influence public opinion of dreamers.

Her rhetoric is wrong because it is deceitful (it does not coincide at all with Rubio's rhetoric) and it is delivered from a position of power. So, if she says something, it is highly likely that it will be listened to and accepted. You can view my rhetoric as wrong and disrespectful, but I am not going to respect anyone who is disrespecting us by trying to politicize our lives. That is disrespectful to me and all those I talk to and are going through fucking hell, and I will not apologize for what I wrote. You can kiss my rear-end if you don't like it.

And this was addressing everyone not just you, I'm entitled to my opinion. It is already politicized. We know that Obama wants to pass the DREAM act. So obviously that is what she wants to pass too. Like I said they think the DREAM act is the common sense solution and that is what they want to pass. The Rubio proposal hasn't even come out yet, and we all know it will be "half-cooked" when compared to the DREAM act so that is true. And of course they are trying to garner support for there party. How else do you think they will get any of there policies through? Including the DA. Making the assumption that they don't care if it passes or not, and they just want more power, doesn't make it true. With that said you have disrespected me. Before I gave you the courtesy of lashing out uncontrollably, but now I choose to use my discretion and flag all of you're inappropriate comments.

I didn't see anything that you are accusing her saying in any of her quotes. Show how it doesn't coincide with what Rubio says.
