Update: I got pre-approval for a loan at a Credit Union. Does that guarantee me the actual loan? They gave me a rate and a loan amount after applying for a loan. They told me all I need to finalize was the bill of sale, and insurance.

Pretty much all you have to do is go down there and sign the papers.

Hope things work out, its a great feel!

Purchased two cars last year. Had sort of a similar ordeal with one bank (chase). Credit is in perfect standing order, but also got a call in regards to the expiration date on my DL & the work authorization only on the SSC. Said I could use a cosigner to make things easier, but was set on going about this alone (now that I can, why not!)
Thoroughly explained to the sales rep the DACA and how it works & that I wasn't really going anywhere lol. They we're unaware to what the daca was and were more than helpful and understanding. Shortly after that she took it to her finance manager and got me approved directly through their bank (Mercedes Benz Financial) to lessen confusion on the other banks.

Go to a credit union. I believe each city in Texas has a major credit union. They're known to be the best to buy car loans from. I had a loan of 13k with an APR of 2.04% from RBFCU. I provided them my EAD/documentation and they gave me the loan like it was nothing.

I'm onto buying a house now, wish me luck!

Ok, so I've gone and provided the Credit Union with paycheck stubs, because they required that, so that was done. Still looking for a car. Wish me good luck, I'm hoping everything works out good.

Hmm. Look like I'll be transferring my banking to RBFCU. I have USAA right now, but they won't give me a loan. The one thing I like about USAA is the ATM fee refunds (up to $15/mo) plus they've been very good about handling the two times I've had money withdrawn from my account.
