Yeah, I've heard stories about them. One teacher friend moved to VA with her husband and took a 20k cut, and she has to sit with her class during lunch. NYC pays more, not it isn't the best with its high cost of living. Long Island pays about 10k more on average but it is nearly impossible to land a job there.
