There is nearly zero chance that the Biden administration will do anything on immigration now. Unless they keep the house next year and extend their Senate lead by 2-4 more seats. This is extremely unlikely.

Let's just hope the SC doesn't kill DACA any time soon.

Well, unless a miracle happens (dems comes up with another proposal that changes her mind, remove her, or senate removes the filibuster and all 3 are unlikely to happen), dems won't be able to pass any immigration legislation during Biden's presidency.

Dems making an immigration deal with 60 votes in the Senate seems the most viable option now and I don't see that happening any time soon.

The majority of the undocumented immigrants affected by the proposal are essential workers at a time when the country needs them the most. Plus is the right thing to do.
There is no reason for Senate Democrats to not include the legalization provision, despite her recommendation. These are new times with new realities.
Also, House Dems vowed to not vote for the budget bill without the reconciliation package and all of its elements.

@SenatorDurbin
I am deeply disappointed in the Parliamentarian’s decision tonight, but the fight for immigration reform will continue. Senate Democrats have prepared an alternative proposal for the Parliamentarian’s consideration in the coming days.

If they don’t replace her and she continues to say no, she is just taking the blame for Dems who will then say “ we tried…”

Progressives on TYT predict this will happen…

Bottom line is the Senate is run by (Democrat) Senators, not the parlamentarian.

I agree with you.

VP Harris can override with more common sense and humanity.
