Yes and no, the Dems could of got rid of the filibuster and actually passed a bill. The most important question senators need to be asked is if they support abolishing the filibuster. If the answer is no they are not serious about any of their positions.

The constitution says nothing about a Senate filibuster it was created entirely by the Senate to stop legislation.

If the end of DACA would truly cause a humanitarian crisis; then why wouldn't they abolish the filibuster to avert a humanitarian crisis.

Same with these border security people. If it's true that migrants are bringing drugs that kill Americans and are also raping and pillaging natives ; then why wouldn't you abolish the filibuster to stop them coming. The only answer is if you don't really care.

TlR under the current rules there is nothing they can do but they can always change the rules.

Let them spend $billions to deport us... why should we do them any favors and self-deport... especially when we contributed so much in taxes and to the economy. Statics show illegal immigrants pay taxes and 94% of daca are gainfully employed. If they want us out... let the US economy take the hit.

This was told to Donald Trump to get him to kill the early daca for wall deal- The fight over immigration is more useful than the solution. That has never been more true, especially in this political climate.

Folks, this is business and it makes no sense to kill your revenue stream. I think the most they are truly willing to do is to codify or extend daca, this keeps the cash flowing.

do you really think that ending daca would cause a humanitarian crisis? that sounds like we are going to die of hunger, the news only use that term when a hurricane/earthquake hits and people loose all their sh!t. Realistically speaking I think most of us could survive with a few adjustments, I mean we should be smart college people. The real question is what kevin mccarthy is going to do a year or 2 from now when/if daca ends, I doubt he thinks that we would in a humanitarian crisis.

Many people on the left say that ending DACA would cause a humanitarian crisis. These aren't my words.

Meanwhile EAGLE Act is cruising thru the house and word on the streets says it has republican support in the senate.

Tech companies love bring Indians and Chinese workers, they pay them less for about 1.5 times the work. I've seen it first hand, these new workers are eager to be here and put in an insane amount of time to keep their employers happy because if they get fired they only have 90 days to find a new sponsored job or go back to their countries. Not hating on anybody, you got to do what you have to do just pointing out what I have seen.

i think we should not get overly pessimistic. the fact the durbin / tillis aren't talking in public about immigration bill, doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing.

one good thing is that everybody (including durbin and tillis) have repeatedly acknowledged that there is no hope in next Congress for any immigration bill - for Dems (DACA fix) or Reps (Border Fix).

Eagle Act is as unrealistic as Dream Act What house passes doesn't really matter. Remember, they passed, clapped, laughed, at American Dream and Promise Act as well

Indians have been lobbying for this for years to fix a truly bad situation. But it's them against rest of the world LOL. Nobody other than Indians / Chinese want this passed.
