The Obama Administration should not have announced a date if there was a chance of another delay. One delay is fine but a second delay hurts trust on an issue especially among ardent activists who pay the most attention on this issue.

They say the reason for the delay is the war supplemental bill for the wars, which is in danger of failing. I guess they have to shore up votes in the House.

Still, immigration remains the third priority behind health care and energy and that hasn't changed. Also, the immigration event is still happening sometime later this month. I think once the event happens, the memories of the delays will be overshadowed by the news that will come from the event.

President Obama is one of the most intelligent man in the world. He knows what he is doing and i trust him. So should every one else.
This strategy is only working for OPPONENTS to CIR.

First it was dem didn't control congress; didn't set agenda; public wasn't ready; election fears....help me out here people...I'm sure there's more. Now it's "the economy" "it's not the right time" "not enough votes" "we want a bipartisan bill"
Rham Emanuel said after the elections (do a google search) something that was very telling. He said Obama wouldn't address immigration reform UNTIL his SECOND ADMINISTRATION. Obama himself voted to sunset guest worker provisions in 2007 effectively killing that CIR bill. If you don't want to deal with a problem, you pack your schedule with everything you can imagine, give non answers about CIR, and stick with "we'll begin discussions THIS year."

It won't happen this year. Not next year. And 2011 is a stretch at best- it'll be primary season. Some of you seriously need to stop drinking the coolade.
I agree with you 100%......But is very likely Obama won't have a majority in congres by 2011 wich will make it next to impossible.

Typical DAP drama queens overreacting.

Postponed meeting = Bigger + More Effective.

A majority of Americans support CIR

"re-election year" crap does not make sense. So politicians have to fear voting for what the majority of people support because it's a "re-election year"?

Where are you getting your numbers from?
Last I checked the GOP was showing no signifcant signs of recovery.
If anything democrats will gain an even stronger majority in 2011.

I disagree, people don't like majority congresses for too long. Plus, with all this reform Obama is bringing in, there are already a lot of people getting angry so, a continuation of democratic majority is highly unlikely.

what are you all talking about "Majority of Americans support CIR", no they don't. the only ones who do are the ones that have a connection with an illegal alien. weather its a friend, employer, or family. but other than that, why would anyone want more people here, especially illegals who already broke the law. stop reading those b.s polls. if i go out right now and ask EVERY single person "do u support CIR", they would say "deport these illegals"... asking 1,000 people doesn't = majority of Americans.

they don't want us here, the only people that have no problem with us is the ones who make a living from us, who may benefit directly from some of us.

is it the right thing to solve this problem once and for all so we have no more of this problem every 10 years; YES... do people give a s**t about what is right? NO. they only care about themselves.

The whole point of mid-term election is the balance of power...historically The party controlling the White House has lost an average of 24 House seats and 4 Senate seats during midterm elections since 1950
