Are you seriously in favor of this bill? It doesn't give you anything but a right to join the military. After being relieved from the military duty, you still can't work or drive.

This bill IS nothing.

If student visas are on the table, that's a diff. story. I'll join the military in a heart beat.

You know just as everyone else when and if the Dream Act or Immigration reform happens both parties or no parties will get equal credit. None of these narcissist would pass something that did not benefit them both with a bill like this. And stop saying your life depends on this your life does not depend on this and if you never get citizenship and got deported to another country it still would not end your life. I sure as hell hope that your a strong enough person that you
would not take your life. You need to change your mindset and take care of what you can. Get all this partisan politics out of your head and think about one thing your education if you handle that then whatever happens to you is not a death sentence. If someone told you being a undocumented student was going to be easy they lied. My wife and I both were undocumented and we received our citizenship in about 14 years and we also received college educations. Being an undocumented student is the hardest thing you will face get your head straight and know the truth you are not a US citizen and in noway will they ever treat you as such until you are. You will be looked down upon be broke the whole way through it and have to do miserable jobs the whole time, you will get not one bit of respect from the establishment/ And god forbid you get in trouble your done, you get in a vehicle without a DL and insurance and get caught your done. Now the flip side to that is if your tough enough if you have the guts to work hard be humble and fight only for the education that will give you freedom anywhere you are then in the end you will never have to fill like anyone can look down on you. Be strong and I am sure everything is going to work for you but don't think any of it will be easy not one day And stay humble the biggest part if you are an ass in this life and your undocumented in this country guess what you will get in return you will be treated like a ass. Take the little time it takes to have good manners and do it take care of all the little things that separate you from everyone else. Yes Mam the Yes Sir's every thing to represent yourself as a person of decency.
This is so true. I'm only working for my education, but hopefully they will pass something this year.

What she wants is us to be United States Lap dogs for eternity in exchange as punishment for something we are not guilty of. Her idea is total bulls*t. Just let them remove the 10 year bar. Come on it's the only damn thing stopping us really, so we can do thing the legal way like what they have been yapping.

You are just so misinformed, the article says bill "would protect foreign-born students and those who serve in the military". As in you either join the military or you are a student. And in a previous article she was quoted saying that her version of the bill would give out student visas and work permits to people who were brought into the country as children, instead of giving residency. You would not have to join the military to get a student visa. Its basically like the previous bill only you cant qualify for automatic citizenship in the future. But it still gives a legal status and at some point the future you can apply for legal permanent residency and then citizenship.

I'm honestly for anything at this point. Legal status => education, work => money, a life. Citizenship can come later through meeting someone or having a company sponsor you.

At this point I don't care what we get. If we can get a work permit and a student visa then I'm ok with it. I will be happy if at leadt im able to get a license and travel to my country and work legally too

It all depends what she proposes really, I'd have to read it thoroughly before making a decision on whether to support it or not.
After all, I'd like to see where I'll end up before I even start.
