How would one prove they entered the country before a certain date? Medical records? School records?

Believe it or not. The schools you attended still have your record. I had to send my official transcript from high school to the graduate program I got accepted into to demonstrate AB 540 status in California. :- ) They still have your records. Try it out.

damn hopefully the cutoff date is not 2001...I entered the country August 2002 :/

but can someone please be kind and explain Rubio's dream act to me?

will we be able to get permanent residency or citizenship after a couple of years? or is it just giving us a legal visa that we can work in?

We would be given non-immigrant visas, which would essentially allow us to naturalize/adjust our status based on the methods already available (i.e. marriage, work or military service).

Actually it's the kind of law that would make sense -- the previous version is like 5 years, right?
5 consecutive years has been in all bills.

Where does he say about the age limit?

For Overstays, the entry card stamp.
For EWIs, it would be school records.

Well all I can say is its about time that some Republicans are waking up to the seriousness of what undocumented, young immigrants are facing. As for Rubio's proposal, talk is cheap and everything looks better on paper. All I'm saying is I'm not going to judge his ideas but at least he is reaching out and I STRONGLY COMMEND HIM FOR THAT. I just hope others follow his lead. So far, John Boehner MIGHT ( key word is might) actually support Rubio's ideas and a bill if he produces it. We'll see. At the end of the day, only GOD will decide the outcome. Keep hope alive.

not to sound ungrateful...but that's not really that exciting

I can already marry a citizen, since I came to this country with a visa but just overstayed
