This happened in a different state, I think Alabama or Arizona where they gave licences to DACA but then governor came and revoke that and made current licences own by DACA recipients void

I think we're still fine, this vetoed bill doesn't repeal anything current, our Drivers Licenses are fine thats is until Scott decides he can revoked them.

Well we will see. Hopefully it doesn't happen and we still get our licenses and I hope I am wrong. If you guys find more information or hear it in the news and know more about it please let me know. I just found out about it today since it just happened today but maybe more info will surface. If you guys can clarify it that would be awesome.

"It was never passed by Congress, nor is it a promulgated rule," Scott wrote. "Given that deferred action status does not confer substantive rights or lawful status upon an individual, Florida is best served by relying on current state law."

It's not clear how many individuals would have been able to rely on the measure (HB 235) because Florida already allows someone with a work permit to get a temporary license. Those who are given deferred action status can obtain a work permit. But allowing the use of deferred action status could have speeded up the process for some young immigrants.

So if your approve for DACA and not a work permit, you won't be able to get a driver license and I don't know of much people who are approve for DACA and not a work permit. So this is a none issue

it's a bill that allows DACA people in Florida to get their license with just the approval letter.

Guys don't worry, this is a political move. Florida's bill HB235 would have allowed (DACA) notice of approval as an identification to get a drivers license.

See this link for details of the bill
http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sectio...x?BillId=49465

As far as I know, you get the work permit around the same time as this notice or shortly after. Here's the catch, YOU CAN STILL GET A DRIVERS LICENSE!!! this was not a bill take your driving privileges away and signed into law, it was a bill to make the process quicker for those who get approved and passed Florida's house and senate almost by an unanimous decision, but was vetoed by Gov. Rick Scott.

What we need to do now is, take power into our own hands, and educate the public for the 2014 elections coming up. Will we let Rick Scott run for a second term? He actually won 50% of the Hispanic vote, I'm sure we alone can make him lose next elections.

Don't worry, we will prevail. One love.

This has completely ruined my night! I heard it in a news segment and went online to read about it and I just can't believe it! I was approved a little over a month ago, I immediately went and got my restricted and have been practicing my driving and now this. I was so close... The words that come to mind for and about Rick Scott cannot be mentioned in this forum without being banned, I am sure you can all imagine them.

I don't even understand why a bill was presented for this when we were already allowed to have a license. Why stir calm waters? I haven't read the bill, so I'm not sure what other things were in it but they are only mentioning this so I have to guess this was it?!

I wonder if we show up and try to change our restricted to a permanent one they will notice? When I showed my acceptance letter the girl didn't even know what it was. She called someone over and asked, that person told her it was like a TPS and that it was fine. I don't know what kind of documents you have to show to change your license since technically you already showed them when you received the restricted. So maybe this will be a loophole?

Can anyone who has changed their restricted to a permanent license in FL comment on this? What did you have to show? Obviously you take your driving test but what else? Did they check all your documents again?

Please let us know.

Go in and take the driving test, its not that hard anyways. This doesn't change anything you just have to wait until you get your EAD and SSN (as it's always been) so that you can get your License.

To upgrade your permit to a real DL you just need your permit and EAD
