Yes, they should. Also why have it up there in the first place. This is only the second renewal of the DACA program, so that means this was never a real option.

Anyone renew with a lawyers help? Maybe a lawyer will have better luck looking into this extended EAD for us?

So they do have the power to automatically extend our EADs so that we don't expire. If mass approvals don't start coming next month, then we need to find a way to pressure them for extensions.

This was from a press release this month.
Sup, bawler!

Apart from a dramatic uptick in approvals, something like this may be the only solution. Even with the discretionary extensions that USCIS advertised for DACA, nothing came out of it. Pressure needs to be put on Secretary Johnson to offer something like this for DACA, though it may be difficult in this election year.

And that is what infuriates me so much. They claim (and by they I mean their website, customer service agents, lawyers, etc) that you may be able to get an extension. But then you inquire about it, and all of a sudden that option is nonexistent. So why is it still on the website???????

And then they have the nerve to post updates on their website about DACA still being available, and encouraging people to apply...They can't even get through the backlog of applications they already have in a timely manner! And they refuse to give us assistance while our lives fall apart waiting. Everything about this whole process is backwards, and the worst part is that they could care less about that.

Because they still get paid no matter if they have done their job or not but we don't we are practically at their mercy.

June 22 my EAD expired and I'm waiting for the renewal for one month and one week and counting.

Sup Rock! Good to see you're still around. Anyway, I found this article from this law firm concerning the delays concerning EAD renewals. Looks like we need to keep pushing USCIS find a way to allow us to work while our EAD applications are pending.

Quote:
These delays are causing serious problems for many who rely on valid EADs for work authorization. An EAD is only valid once it is approved; it is not enough to have a request for an extension or renewal pending. The Murthy Law Firm has recommended that the government change this policy and allow "…EAD extension applicants to continue employment based upon the I-765 receipt notice." For the time being, however, once an existing EAD expires, the applicant typically will have to cease working until the renewal application is approved.
USCIS Aims to Improve EAD Processing by Mid 2015
Quote:
SCOPS advised AILA that it is "…very aware of the delays and is working to address the issue with affected service centers." To that end, SCOPS is increasing the number of officers responsible for EAD adjudications and expects that this will serve to reduce the number of cases that take longer than 90 days to process within a few months.

Let's hope things start picking up
