Do we literally have to visit the DMV to renew our licenses every 1-2 years..? - Page 3

In NC, my husband has to go in person to renew it. His license expires the same date as his EAD.

Honestly I would recommend applying for a non-Real ID Driver's License if you have the option for it, and once Real ID kicks in on 10/1/2021 use your EAD to fly.

My NY Driver's License expires in 2025 and I sure as fuck am not taking another trip to the DMV until either it expires or I get my green card.

Yes, no point in getting Real ID when you can simply fly using your EAD. If you apply for Real ID, your DL gets dropped to only 2 years. I'm not letting go of my CT DL which is valid for 6 years!
