Exactly! Dude you know your status. Why put yourself in that position?

I don't feel sorry for him at all for the DUI. Look at how many of us are here and we're following the laws. He had no excuse to be drinking and driving.

BUT...

He is a DREAMer after all. And I'm sorry he is facing deportation, and he'll probably end up going home.

I think it all comes down to circumstances. There are many things that could affect blood alcohol level;

- Your weight
- Alcohol % in the beverage
- What you had eat to prior
- Genetic tolerance
- The time it took for you to consume the beverage

The person behind the wheel is expected to know all that, if they're going to have something to drink. "I didn't know any better" is not an excuse in this case, since given the circumstances (illegal, unlicensed, probably over the limit) he pushed it too far.

I occasionally have a beer with lunch or something and then drive, so do many others, but if you know your limits, there shouldn't be a problem (provided that you have a valid license.)

^ very true.

Unfortunately this means that for those of us who weigh less than 100 lbs, one drink and we're hammered.
