yeah never bring it up...

I was afraid I would not be renewed on time, it has been 2 months since mine expired now and no one ever asked me for my new permit. I got it on time, but they apparently do not track it very well.

I do not even know if they will ever ask me again for it. I do not think they use e-verify.

seems like small companies are not as prompt as the bigger ones and likely to hire undocumented workers. we should all go to small companies! (if we do get fired)

Many companies, especially ones that operate internationally, also hire contractors without requiring to check for valid EADs. They are not legally obligated to do so since they hire contractors from all over the world and can't get into trouble for it since the contractors aren't considered employees.

It's worth exploring if you need to find work later.

If you are a professional also you can become a contractor.

Be your own boss and offer your services.
