Guys is like someone said on another post ;" Don't get too excited!". You're not getting a work permit if you're not a removal proceeding but at least now you can sleep better at night. Hopefully this is only beginning of good news for all of us (Dream Act passing!).

Criteria is much broader than just the DA qualifiers.

There are a total of 19 factors they will consider. 19 that were listed in the recent Morton memo.

3. Have good moral character
4. Graduate from high school or obtain a GED
5. Complete two years of college or military service in good standing

I have also heard that veterans, pregnant women and victims of a crime are going to be able to apply. Just meet the number2 and 3 of the points above and prove that you're a vet, pregnant etc..

How to apply (As of now)

This is an "EXECUTIVE ORDER" therefore it CAN be revoked by a precedent president. YES WE DID! YES YOU WILL KEEP YOUR PROMISES.

God Bless America.
I thought the Work Permit applies for folks who are already detained and in some kind of removal proceedings?

He applied for a work permit through a lawyer. I think his post is even in the Lounge. I believe his name is Xavier.

To all of my spanish speakers, this is an excellent question to ask Immigration Lawyer Mario Lobo (who appears on Despierta America).
He applied for a work permit already under this new news?

That link is to make an appointment with an officer. I've seen lawyers call up a hotline to obtain statuses/history, anyone know what that number is?
