just make something up for the limited term. You waited to long to get it so they put limited term. The dmv messed up and I have to get it changed they thought it was my first time driving. They thought I had an unpaid ticket. Come on dude you are use to making excuses for stuff by now. I would rather lie to "friends" I obviously don't trust with the truth over having to explain to a cop why I have a sticker on my dl.

Employers you will have to tell them the truth for obvious reasons.

I have started to practice. I applied for my id and passed the written the same day.

Ummm....I live in North Carolina and I can't even get a license until they start giving them after March 25th since they barely even wanted to give them to us. Now they will put a BIG HOT PINK STRIP on the top when regular license is Blue. BIG BOLD highlighted letters highlighted in yellow with "NO LAWFUL STATUS". The deferred action phrase in the background graphics and "Limited Term" for Two years only as well. Ours will be vertical like they give minors instead of horizontal. That is 5 things making us DACA folk stand out like a SORE THUMB. As soon as I pull out my license for anything, to rent an apartment, get a job, or anything it gives them a reason to assume I'm not legally able to work or nothing. it is confusing. I feel like I am gonna get many doors shut in my face, which is probably why NC decided to do this purposely. They claim to prevent voter fraud, but NC doesn't even require ID to vote. Go figure! So just be grateful with what you have because it could be a lot worse. BTW North Carolina is also going to change the license design with HOT PINK for folks with GREEN CARDS or TPS. Only US Citizens will have the "Nice, Cool" license. So they are targeting all non-Us-Citizens. Be VERY grateful.
I am grateful regardless and can only make the best of it. Don't cover it because you will be drawing more attention and make it seem like you have something to hide. You don't have anything to hide, so you should flaunt what you got.

We have laws about discrimination based on; national origin, sex, religion, genre, all that kinds of stuff but lawful presence And you know what? We don't have a status but a 2 year lawful presence.

You shouldn't confused the two.


If you guys don't feel comfortable with it because you think its discriminating you or dehumanizing you, then just don't get it or send an complaint letter to the DMV or the governor or hell even Obama or the DHS.

Look the whole idea of this site is to advocate for change, and we're not beggars nor choosers just like Texas is not Nazi Germany because of the whole limited terms ordeal. If you think that I look forward for congress to achieve consensus every day in this matter, then you're right. But I also am trying to fix my status and find solutions to this problem. I like Texas, live here more than half my life, although if other states have better solutions then I'll probably move. I just hope that this doesn't happen to other people as well, and for future generations to have better solutions.
