I took an Amtrak from Vancouver to Seattle.
@ Seattle, I was busy exiting the station I didn't look for CBP

But! CBP was waiting at every station in between! They didn't come into the train, but they were wandering outside the station.

Maybe it was one of non checking day.

i just registered today and was looking through the forums. Please, please, please don't try to take any chances taking greyhound anywhere upstate.

i have been going to college in western new york near the rochester area and this may i was able to walk in the graduation ceremony(i still have one more semester to go though.) for four years i have taken greyhound back and forth from long island with no problems whatsoever, sometimes with my mom. at times i had seen people patrolling and they would always just ask for proof of citizenship from hispanic looking people. i guess i wasn't hispanic looking enough for them, or maybe it helped that i usually wore my college sweatshirt whatever the reason i was never bothered. but my family (mom, dad, and little brother who is a citizen) decided to come up to see me walk across the stage and they got stopped. according to my mom they didn't just ask them but every single person who was on the bus. now they're in a lot of legal trouble, with a possibility of deportation of both my parents. we have a pretty good lawyer, and an OK case though and my family is optimistic but still. they had to pay a really expensive fine, they could have been detained, and one of the guys who was questioning my mom mentioned that if my parents did get locked up my little brother would be taken into custody by the state. i'm really not sure if he was just trying to scare her or how true this is but its pretty daunting to say the least.

its better to be safe than sorry at this point. don't let this happen to you or your loved ones.

^Wow, I feel for you. I wish the best for you and your family. What a horrible thing to go through.

Thanks for that message. I think its circumstances like yours that remind us how risky a lot of options are for undocumented immigrants. =/

Holly crap... I can't believe this country's laws...

I dont know if I have mentioned this before, but if any of you have to travel to and from Miami to Orlando, I recomend you use shuttles. they're very safe, no one asks for any kind of identification when you come on the bus. I've had to go go Miami a couple times this month and took the shuttle services from Orlando to Miami, and then back to Orlando. I don't even live in Orlando, but my parents were able to drop me off in Orlando and then pick me up there.

Go To Bus (you can buy tickets on line, only $23). They don't do any stops between Orlando and Miami (except for W. Palm Beach) They do have several stops in Miami though. They only pick up at ONE location in Orlando.
It's a safe trip, and you might even get to watch the crappy Kung Fu movie called Snake-Crane Secret like I did... TWICE.. LOL

There's another company, I think it's called Super Shuttle (Hopeful knows about this one).

Darn..only picks up in Orlando...Meh. Still good for return trips I suppose.

The most I know about Super Shuttle is that it seems to primarily serve Airport patrons. When my relatives would come and visit, they usually got to our house from the airport on a super shuttle.

Go To Bus stops at the airport and several hotels in Miami.
In orlando,it picks up close to the convention center (at least that's what I think that building in front of the pick up spot is).
