Mona- i heard rumors about that too. its not going to be very diff from vista i think . heard it was mostly for netbooks . i think the realease is in 2010 :\ im not sure.

ah the peer pressure from mac >.< haha.
i will look into it though. but i think it ends up being pretty expensive with the windows apps.

Mac would be worth it for you if you need to edit video and stuff. But as far studying, surfing, music, typing goes it is fast. I am using it right now wirelessly at home/ cafes and I didn't experience any lag.

as for editing video stuff, not so sure but I think it'll be okay as long as it's not heavy stuff. Check out netbooks, there is a lot out there but mine is the best I am pretty confident that this laptop will work for you. Just ask a local computer nerd. It comes as window xp but doens't come with microsoft office, I use Openoffice.org, it's free and is compatible with microsoft word. They have slides, presentation, all that stuff. It's basically free version of microsoft office.

Windows 7 will be the next windows os its already getting excellent reviews its suppose to be faster and less annoying and more stable than vista also if you want windows 7 is in beta right now so if you want to test it out you can download it of Microsoft's website.

It's a really good OS. And that's coming from a "Mac."
