Got Denied at SSA after getting EAD card :( - Page 8

I GOT THROUGH AT THE SSA IN NORCROSS, GA!!! This is how it went down: As I walked in I went straight to the ticket machine, and hit #2 (Application for SSN) then took a seat and patiently waited for my number to be called. Within 5 minutes my number was called and luckily I got a Hispanic guy that was pretty cool. When I sat down he said, "How can I help you today sir" to which I responded, "I'm here to apply for social security". He then asked "Have You Applied For Social Security Before?", I said, "No Sir". So he then said,"Not a problem sir, I'll just need to see your passport and driver's license" As he asks me for my license (which I don't have) and my passport (which is super expired, but in my back pocket), I calmly gave him none of the things he asked for; instead, I gave him:
He took what I gave him, looked at my EAD then said "Nice, you got approved for deferred Action? Good job", As he says this I started thanking god that this guy knows about DACA, unlike my last visit. We then had a little chit chat about school and some other stuff. After our chit chat he started asking official questions like:
To which I responded, "No" then " Yes" He did some stuff on the computer and then said; "You card should be in the mail within a week or two" I'm still in utter disbelief as to how smoothly everything went. |

The point of my story though guys is this:
YOU DON'T NECESSARILY NEED A VALID PASSPORT OR ANY PASSPORT TO GET YOUR SOCIAL

I'm so glad to hear that! It seems that it all depends on the office as well as the employees that work there. Hopefully, it'll go smoother for me next time as well. Thanks for the info on the docs you presented them!
