Hi Fellow Dreamers,

Quick question - I got a red-light ticket in the mail today. The care is registered under my name but my mother drives it primarily.

I live in FL. Can I fight it? What are the chances of getting away without penalty?

Additionally, doesn't this mean that next time I renew my work permit I would have to state that I got a ticket?

Should I get an affidavit stating it was my mother driving so my name is cleared. She has a legal license from Chicago.

Part 4, question 1:

Have you EVER been arrested for, charged with, or convicted of a felony or misdemeanor, including incidents handled in juvenile court, in the United States? Do not include minor traffic violations unless they were alcohol or drug-related.

You're clear.

TexasDreamy is right, no need to explain that later on since it's just a ticket. I can't answer your other question about fighting the penalty since I don't live in FL. But at least you know that if you're stuck with the ticket it won't hurt you DACA-wise.

Why would you fight it if you did it. Suck it up and pay for it.

You didn't have to pay it lol you can fight those easily. You just have to ask for proof that they have you on camera going through it, they'll send you a picture of a woman driving and that's not you, then it's clear.
