What bit about 'field tech/desktop support' (i.e. being physically there, client facing), would lead you to infer that?

An entry-level IT position would hardly qualify as a "body of highly specialized knowledge" requisite for H-1B.

I am not being a pest, I am asking a simple question since IT Desktop is easily outsourced.

So now its potential for outsourced that is the issue.

*Sigh*

It's a client facing position that requires a physical presence, 8-5pm, for support; given the nature and requirements of institution that is to be worked at, outsourcing is unfeasible if impossible.

Field Tech would be a more appropriate term to describe the work since desktop appears to be synonymous with call center/help desk to you.

Even though the majority of desktop support positions, across varying organizations/companies, do in fact require physical presence too.

Its kinda' in the name too - [desktop] support - at your or someone else desk.
