Just a heads up for anyone who is interested in starting a local group (student or not).
Thanks to USSA we have an excellent organizing manual, really this thing goes into a lot of detail about every aspect of getting a group going. We have access to organizers that are willing to provide one on one training (over the phone if you don't live near by) or to just answer questions. We have access to links/groups offering grants to campus groups (up to $1,000).
So if you have wanted to get active locally but can't find a group please think about starting one, lots and lots of resources are available. Keep in mind also that the group doesn't have to be only dream related, you can make it much more broad thus not really revealing to anyone your status or anything that would make them think you are undocumented. (i.e. like FL's students working for equal rights, etc.)
