I said chances are better than ever before. I never said we had the votes. I clearly said we DONT HAVE THE VOTES.
Not on that 1st thread you started. It's OK to backtrack buddy. We call it emotional roller-coaster around this neck of the woods.

John Kerry and myself: "My opinion changes when facts change"

George Bush and you: "My gut feeling tells me something and I stick to it."

If that makes you sleep better at night ok....

Saddest thing is that you're just repeating what I've said in the past. If this shit don't fly, Republicans will use immigration next year to get obama out of office passing either dream attached to agjobs and stem, or just agjobs and stem by itself. Obviously the hispanics are gonna eat it up and not see the irony of it all.

Are you on coke? Even if the DA doesn't pass, we have a better chance of discovering big foot than that actually happening. Republicans = no immigration reform other than build more walls on the border.

It fascinates me to no end that some people on this forum actually think Republicans care about the Hispanic vote.

When you are sold a bad bill of goods for your vote like Gutierrez,Obama, Reid , Durbin do realize you are getting screwed and ask for your vote back.
Arguing w/historical precedence is pointless in this forum.

All that may be true, but what have the Republicans done for Hispanics or Blacks lately? Since civil rights in the 1960s, Republicans deliberately have sought to win the vote of whites in the South by exploiting the latent racism here. More relevant for this forum, they are now stoking hatred toward toward the undocumented--with racist undertones--in their electioneering and rhetoric. This has been the case since 2006/2007, and it gets worse by the day. It is easy to say that Republicans were our advocates years back, but they are currently not. Witness the 2010 gubernatorial election here in Georgia: Nathan Deal actually ran ads deliberately intended to spark fear of Mexicans, with one that went so far as to say Roy Barnes wants to take jobs from Americans and give them to Mexicans, and another that lied to say Barnes tried to make it so illegals could vote.

Democrats don't do this kind of crap, no matter what their other failings are.
