I’m sick at the moment so I have way too much time on my hands. Today was quite a news day.

DACA recipients+ ones who qualify will no question be in on this. Not so sure about older dreamers.

I feel like Trump may drop Chain migration and adress it with CIR.

If the Democrats don't want to play ball...fuck all of them. I am 100% for Trump's framework. I don't care what the fuck it has as long as it legalizes Dreamers. And the GOP better not short change us..anything that doesn't include FULL PERMANENT LEGALIZATION for Dreamers is a non-starter. Cornyn and Grassley better get this through their thick old heads.

Trumps proposal is a way better starting point than Goodlatte's bill. Make some changes to it and pass it!!

The dealmakers group still struggling with question of whether parents of Dreamers could be sponsored by their newly legalized children, senators say

My opinion:
How about they just end family sponsorship for permanent residents as a down payment for chain migration?

Thats a better idea. Ending rights for citizens is much more messier. I would add sponsored parents wont be able to become citizens, therefore cant sponsor anybody else.

Isn't this basically what the Durbin/Graham did? 3 year renewable work visas for parents with no path to citizenship, no one in the family can sponsor parent.
