Rep. Shuster believes in an immigration reform that starts with border security and ends with forceful enforcement of the laws. He understands the issue of immigration the U.S faces, but does not believe that allowing undocumented individuals who entered the countyr illegally be a part of the solution.

Rep. Shuster stresses the need of a court system that deports known "illegal aliens." Hes stated that the change needed to the immigration system should focus on tough border security as well has the "immediate deportation" of undocumented individuals.

Based on statements made by Rep. Shuster, and voting record to crack down on illegal immigration, I leaned towards a likely nay for Rep. Shuster.

In 2005, Rep. Shuster voted in favor of HR 4437 which would "clamp down on illegal immigration and tougher border security." The bill would not allow illegal immigrants to gain legal status.

In 2007. Rep. Shuster gave a statement on the Senate immigration bill introduced by Sen. Kennedy in which he showed strong opposition and referred to it as amnesty for "illegal aliens."
