Why do they want to incorporate everything in one bill? that will just make it harder for any reform to take place. I mean seriously the way the economy is right now and the way many ppl just are not in accord with legalizing illegal immigrants is not going to help our cause. If it's introduced as a stand-alone bill it might have a better chance of passing than reform altogether. Im with the guy below me, if 2007 happens all over again I'll commit suicide in protest, ok I'm kidding, but it sometimes just makes me want to do that sort of thing. I mean I want... no I NEED MY SHOT AT THE AMERICAN DREAM!!!!!!!!!! LET"S GO DREAMERS!!!!

No kidding, I myself am thinking of joining the French Foreign Legion. Have any of you thought about it? I'm willing to wait maybe a year or two, but after that I'm gone.

We have no better example than our President. I very much hope that we can pressure them to vote on DA this year.

Besides, Reid said that he was "committed to passing immigration reform legislation this year" back in March. Aha. Some of us cannot afford to wait.
F**ck that s**t. Sick, sick, sick, of obstructionist democrats who join the racists (and I use the term loosely here Republicans; I think many of you are beyond the scale of a racist) and betray their party in bad faith. Oh my God, I'm going to log off now before I have a heart attack. I can feel the blood pressure beginning to rise.
ahhahahahahah sorry almost died laughing... and not to offend Im as mad and annoyed as your are.. people sugar coat crap too much makes me sick! la la la la la la hang tight. la la la la its going to be okay! GUESS WHAT!!?? this needs to pass already.. I mean give me a break not only is this for us, but for them as well.. dont they get if they pass this, students.. the ones who are 18 and up will finally be able to pay taxes (which will help the government) and their car insurance.. heck WE ARE DYING TO PAY that crap! hand me a dang green card and Ill pay my car insurance right now (first, ill buy me a car haha)

I understand crap gotta happen first and than it will pass (if it does) hopefully by JAN around that time in 2010.. heck Obama just talks about how hes gonna help immigrants.. just to get their votes and than doesn't do jack about nothing.

Well, what do we have here?

Suicide is not an option for me at all. I just pray I don't get deported to Haiti. As soon as I open my mouth, I would be kidnapped or taken advantage of. I rather be booted to an inhibited island than go there with my Americanized accent.

I can't really say I remember 2007 because I was not paying attention. I wish However, thanks to those that did pay attention. Your efforts are greatly appreciated

The political arena today is quite different than the one in 2007, which is a big factor in the outcome of CIR. I don't think we will have another 2007. I think that we will have a reform, but not an ideal one...

Anything is great at this point as long as we're legalized...

From the NYTimes front page:

Frustrated Liberal lawmaker balances beliefs and politics

Earl Blumenauer, a liberal congressman from Portland, Ore., had faith that President Obama and Democrats in Congress would yield progressive advances. It has been, he says, “a hard landing.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/18/us...iberal.html?hp

This has been my realization as well, it has been a very hard landing indeed.
