I'm gonna use your thread for my own venting, too, if you don't mind.

I've been here for 7 years, and I've worked my ass off taking AP classes in high school. I take piano lessons and volunteer a buttload of hours for different clubs.
In California, they have a program in which high school students who rank in the top 4% of their schools are rewarded guaranteed admissions to UC campuses. So far, I've been guaranteed spots to UC Davis, Santa Barbara, Irvine, and Riverside. Can I apply? NO. I can't afford these schools, nor can I declare financial need. My mom doesn't have an SSN nor an ITIN, therefore she can't pay taxes.

I've had Princeton and Harvard send me applications, but can I apply? No. I can't declare financial need as an international student, either, because they need a bank account record from that country. I don't have that. My mother doesn't pay taxes in our home country, either, obviously.

I'm stuck going to a community college next year, or, if by some miracles I get enough scholarship money, I can go to a CSU.

Now I feel like all the hard work I've done in the past three years of high school was for nothing other than to put me amongst the smartest kids in my school. As my friends are leaving town and going off to the places that I should be going to, I'm staying home. Great.

If I had known seven years ago, that this is the position I would be putting myself in, I wouldn't have gone. I would've put my ten-year-old foot down and stayed in my home country and worked my way to America legally.
Sometimes--and I know how bad this may sound--I'm angry at my mom for taking us here without any deep research. She just said on the plane, "Yeah, we're gonna be illegal. It'll be okay."

-sigh-

Call me a B*&^% when I say this, but...

Stop b*&^$ing, don't take this too offensively but that is the truth. I mean if you really want things like being able to drive, have a car, go to school, etc, etc, like a "normal" person (which you are defining) just take the risks... wanna ride a car? what? you don't have a brain, arms, feet to do it? wanna go to school? move around to get into one, even if it means out of state (yeah, that if it really means a lot to you) Are you bored at your house??? well if you try to take risks, trust me time will go so fast and will get you so tired that some days you would prefer to be enclosed in your house forever.

Always remember to make friends, get the most out of people that are in better positions, like a boss, and just get a network. It is not that hard to see if someone cares, or doesn't care at all that you are illegal, so don't be afraid to touch the topic with someone you know, especially if they like you, because they might be able to help you someone how (sometimes pulling strings is necessary).

Third... You might ask yourself "why me?" but the real question is... "Why not me?" You should remember that you are part of a bunch of humans living in this world, and that the possibilities for things to happen cover all humans (hopefully I made sense) Just deal with what you have, don't be angry, mad, or sad, or blame anybody else, just be happy and make lemonade when life throws you lemons. If you really have the will you can do things.

Do you remember this? :

IS IT MY FAULT THAT I DON"T LIKE LABOR LIKE THEY DO (I just do because of the money pppssss, but after 5 hours it gets pretty boring and tiring)
?????? AGHHHHHH

I lost my motivation because of the doubt on that they've put in my head. I go to school and when I get some work I got to do, I just don't do it with the same "spirit". Sometimes I even find myself asking.."why am I doing this? how is this useful in real life, etc????? (I know the answer to that, it's just weird how it happens)" while doing some hw and I just don't like it and even procrastinate on it.

AGHHHHHHH!!!!!! BTW: this illegal person that talked to me worked his whole life and now is receiving 110 K a year... though he doesn't even know how to write or speak English that correctly, and I think He lost he's youth working day and night as a bus boy of the same restaurant company where he now is a top chef... this is freaking me out hhmmnnn.. they might be saying something wise..idk

I need someone (a mentor I guess lol ) to get some advise... I think I need to get more contacts outside my illegal circle. I love them, but they might be wrong. I want some positive people....
You know, you sure have done a whole lot of bitching and complaining since you joined DAP. In many of your posts, you are always whiny and pissy about everything! So please don't tell someone else to stop bitching, when you can't even follow your own advice.

You have no idea what the op has gone through or what risks he has or hasn't taken. There is no reason to be a jerk to him for venting.

yo honestly, All I have to say to you is:

GO FUCC YOURSELF.

I dont cry about "PHYSICAL LABOR"
are you serious???

Like J said, "PULL YOUR SKIRT BACK DOWN, GROW A SET, MAN"

and dont come here criticizing me for opening up on the ONLY place I can truly express my feelings (the internet) without having to worry about someone back-stabbing me somehow. I will vent all I want and If you dont want to hear it, leave the thread, go find something more useful to spend your time on.

you see, just from reading your post, you seem to be one of those people who keep holding us back, the ones who wonder "why am I doing this" and "I dont want to do all this work" . Yo, honestly, this is not the place for you. Im not whining, or crying or bi tching, Im venting like we ALL need to do sometime.

Im sure you have shed some thoughts as well to your "illegal circle."

Your negativity makes me sick, but I still wish you the best, even if you will come here and bash my thoughts and feelings, Fuc k you dude, I am going through too damn much to have to read sh!t like your comments, I guess this life must be easy for you. You must be missing something in your head.

Now go back to talking to your millionaire chef and not doing your homework...

I came close to going through a similar situation back at my public university in the Northeast, however the rule was going to be specific to that school. It ended up not going through, thank god, but knowing it could have been approved I already made plans to transfer to another university in the state. Eventually I graduated.

You just need to move on with your life at this point. Getting your degree one or two years later is not a huge deal. It's not as though time freezes for you. Your ability to enjoy life doesn't stop, and to be honest... unless the DREAM act passes right now, things won't be all happy and romantic right when you do graduate, as you cannot use your degree to work here yet anyway.
yea no school in SC for undocumented students, and no resources to move elsewhere right now. Its all good, like we all know, our time will come

Oh wow, ok... I did not meant to offend anyone. I was just trying to make someone realize something... if anyone feels like I was negative on my previous comment...well I can't control how anyone take things. I honestly tried to help, because I don't honestly see how you can help someone by feeling that you need to show pity to them, or empathy, why not give them ideas of things to do. It was probably wrong to use the word "bitching"... but at that moment I had no other way to put it. AND I never said I had never "b itched" about stuff, it would be stupid for me to do so when you can find my posts lol.

One more thing, there's a difference between being positive and being realistic. If you don't see a connection between this and my post on this thread, well that just proves you fail to see my point (instead of of concentrating on the word "b itching")

It's true that you can't control how someone interprets what you say, but you obviously realized it might come off badly since your first sentence was: "Call me a B*&^% when I say this, but..."

Actually, I try to avoid reading your posts because 9 out of 10 times you are complaining about something, which is why it annoyed me that you were judging someone for venting.

I don't know. Maybe you were trying to help. Next time, try to not come off as a hypocrite.
