yup. One may have the greatest, most compassionate friends/partners in the world, but the truth is all they can offer is sympathy because they will never truly understand our struggle. Sad isn't it?

not really on the same ballpark but you can draw analogies to veterans or rape victims bonding in a way some never will.

OMG!!!!! Dude I'm Mexican and I can't stand them, not all of them of course, but the ones that you are referring to. They really think they are the sh*t don't they?!!

Sorry if this respond is a little puzzling but I do not feel like I am deeply rooted in my race or family. I feel like an outcast in my family while I fit along well with others from different races. Hopefully someone out there shares this sentiment.

This is perhaps why I have stayed here irrationally against my ideas and wants, because I know if I went back to my native country I would be a big outcast(although I am one here in the same way{lack of legal status] I like to believe it is less).

If I knew I would be happy around people in my native country I would have flown there two years ago and enrolled in ITESM.
Dude I know what you mean, let's just say I was known to people as the whitest Mexican they knew. Racially I am Hispanic, culturally I am as American as George Washington. I really can't fit in with Hispanics, I've tried but sometimes they don't even give me a chance. It's cool though my best friends are such great people who love me for who I am. I can live without the approval of the Hispanics I know. I even live with my best friends who are two Caucasian USC's and I don't have to pay rent or anything, we value each other for what's inside. Back in high school I hung out with some Hispanics for like a week and one asked to borrow my iPod, trying to be accepted I let him borrow it. Next thing I know he breaks my iPod for not having music in Spanish. I listen mostly to rock, emo to be exact, and that's why he broke it. What an as*hole. But, hey I've made it this far without them. So don't worry man, you are not alone and you'll make it.

I can't help but think that you are just a very shallow girl with no personality whatsoever. Might just be my gut feeling though.

Did not marry for a GC whatsoever but i'll tell you why a USC is better

I'll be able to adjust thanx to him
I'll be able to afford a lawyer if i ever need one thanx to him
Don't have to worry about how my bills are going to be paid-- not like i have any anyway
Money isn't a problem. i can afford what i want--- not like i spend money on stupid things
I have health insurance thanx to him
I get to travel around the US thanx to him
I get to drive a nice car thanx to him
ETC ETC

My life is a whole lot better and i thank god every day for bringing this wonderful man in my life. im not saying you cant be happy being married to someone in your situation.. i just feel like it would make things a lot harder. how can you provide for him or her without a job if you don't have any??

ICE can come to my house whenever they want and that's something him as a USC can't prevent
Really? GC was not THE reason? But I do love how in your "reasons" as to why a USC, your husband, is better, you didn't mention love or chemistry between each others' personalities. If those are the reasons why you married, IN MY OPINION, you married for the wrong reasons. But, now I know that it wasn't just my gut feeling that lead me on to belief you are probably really shallow, it is you as well. *Wonderful can have lots of meanings.

I emphasize that last bit because there's something about having lived this way that USC's will never understand, their lives are much more sheltered and are truly indifferent about the concerns of others. There has always been a small tinge of prejudice with every USC i've ever met and it bothers me more than I'd like to admit.

When w/an undecoumented girl, I've never felt our problems suddenly doubled or multiplied in any way, rather they just stayed the same and our relationship became something independent of said things and the bond was a bit stronger and more genuine because of it (sounds contradictory i know).
Can I cyber high-five you as well?? I think you worded my position better than I could ever have. Thank you.

plz-724, you have lost all my credibility. Deducing to such conclusion with very little information on luvsherry is pretty absurd in my opinion. You don't know her in person and how she "really" is. Let's face it, people are different from their cyber personality. Sometimes people don't think through and post controversial things without much thought. I'm guilty of it and apparently so are you. Just calm down, can't just agree to disagree. Calling someone shallow based on a few paragraphs of information is ignorant and shows your lack of interpersonal communication skills.

For your benefit, I'd recommend perhaps taking a few classes of interpersonal communication.

Wow, what about guys that just recently came from Mexico? Why is it only the females? And all of "them" are Mexican? Did you ask every single one of them where they came from? Do you consider them "pretty stupid" because they think different than you do? So I can't consider myself the sh*t if I don't know English?

I know were your coming from and I know what you are trying to say, but others might not. Please be more clear in you statements. Your writing reminds me of racist people I've come to cross paths. Women, for the most part can find your statement sexist.

I'm not trying to bash you, I'm trying to make you aware for your own sake.

I will thank you It is none of my concern, I just stated an opinion on something you made public. Technically your second sentence IS arguing, but whatever. If you know you didn't, then don't mind me. Thank you I hope you have a wonderful day as well and for your marriage to last a long time, if not forever.

Yeah, perhaps I am guilty of posting things without giving them much thought, but I don't do it continuously*. I am calm and fine, I'll agree to disagree with luvsherry just because my opinion is not legally legitimate, it is, ultimately, just that: an opinion. So I'll take back what I said to her, for the sole reason of everyone on here trying to reach the same goal.

*Ok so I was wrong, I continuously post things without thought. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. In the future more thought will be given to better wording and posting my opinions. Thank you.

awwww thanx josh

but plz i don't think you read everything because someone asked what's the difference between a USC or an undocumented person. i was merely listing them. there was no need for me to list what i have in commons with my husband, or how much i love him etc.. i am not shallow, that's how i feel about this subject. i would never tell someone what kind of person they should date. hope you understand. and thank you "till death do us part"

there's a lot of people who have fake marriages for a GC. i am not one of those people. if i was then i would've done that a long time ago ^_^
