The point is, our life is not the best. We are susceptible to crime, we are susceptible to depression, suicide is too common amongst the dreamer community and if someone makes a mistake they get separated from everyone they know and love to a place they don't know? I truly hope she is able to find the help she needs and that they are truly able to help her, I have been shocked by the responses that I am seeing here.

Undocumented youth blaming undocumented youth when it's something much larger than all of us that is to blame. We have been criminalized and victimized for too long.
I think we passively agree. I'm all for following laws (yes, even driving without a license part) but it's still very foolish for that girl to drink (Even as little as going over .01) and drive and not expect some sort of consequence.

And she tried killing herself twice? Something tells me that therein lies a much bigger social problem with the girl and not just the part where she broke the laws. I feel for her, but expecting to get a slap on the wrist while being a) Undocumented b) driving without license and c) under the influence is extremely shortsighted. The decision was hers and all the problems that comes from such a decision are hers to own up to.

Sorry if I sound so unsympathetic, I just cannot believe that anyone would do that in such a delicate situation.

EDIT: I've read up on all the things related to her and I got to say, as much as I want a gray area to happen for her, it just isn't going to happen. From a legal stand point, she was under the influence, that cannot be debated. But deporting her without proper mental rehabilitation seems a bit harsh. It's already happened so nothing can be done but I wish her well.

Lol @ you wanting same rights as a USC even though you are not from this country and disobey laws, try that in Mexico, or any other country and see what happens.

I have heard of many illegals come and drink and drive, the usual treatment was to let them go and pay, this is simply retarded since they will just go out and commit the same thing over and over again.

I have no sympathy for these idiots, and anyone who does, should be deported along with them.
Thank you

Accidents and crimes are very different... Unless you "accidentally" killed somebody. Dreamers who dream have to realize that they're illegals and has to accept the consequence of their actions. I was expecting illegals to be more aware... If not, then tough luck.

Stop defending a DUI criminal because they're illegal, we wouldn't be defending a DUI criminal with papers would you?

At least 80% of the case in cancellation of removal at my work at because they got arrested for a DWI , 10 % are for family violence and the other 10% is misc.

needless to say i feel no pitty for people who got aarrested for DWI or DUI or for family violence.

People like that give us bad reps.

Sorry but I am extremely opposed of DUI. You know no matter what you are risking your life and others by driving while intoxicated. Its like holding a gun shooting it in the air and lodging a bullet in a kids head. "But I did not mean to hit the kid." You did and you should of thought it over.
I find that to be a HUGE exaggeration and the two things cant even be compared! Taking a gun and shooting someone is not the same as a DUI I don't care how you twist it, it's just not the same at all. I believe people like you should be deported cause Realy it's closed minded individuals like you bringing this country down. Your no one to judge anyone on a single mistake maby you should clean that plank from your eyes before you start worrying about the spec on other peoples eyes

There is somewhere in the world you are a citizen of, where you have more rights than a US citizen does, but everyone's parents took a chance here and gave that up. So just learn to deal with it. If a US citizen came down here to Mexico and pulled that, I can guarantee a cuffing and a beatdown at the police station with no medical attention until they signed a guilty plea. So seriously stop whining.

If you drive without a license, you are already breaking a law and could be screwed if caught...then throw in DWI? How stupid can you be.

Fuck it, I say deport everyone who gets a DWI. I care more about the kids playing in the streets who can get mowed down by some degenerate moron than I do about the degenerate moron.

So no, if you aren't supposed to be legally driving in the first place but you chance it and drive anyway, you should be smart enough not to drink and drive. Its so stupid, its like walking in front of a school at the age of 30 and exposing yourself in front of the police then complaining that you got racially profiled.
Kinda harsh and I find that comparison completely incompatible, say whatever you want but people make mistakes, people learn from their mistakes and become better 'GET OVER IT'
