Please don't go with this lawyer. He is not to be trusted and he wants your money. I have been undocumented for a long time and I swear there are very few lawyers who are knowledgeable. It's not their fault, they don't have time or care enough to keep up with current news unless they are specifically interested in Dreamers or are actively helping dreamers fight for immigration reform.

Most people on this site know more and will help you a lot more than this lawyer can.

I'm paying $150.00 for everything in CT. Is a center for immigrants with certified lawyers! Good luck
Hey I'm from CT. Can you give the information of this place? I also went to a lawyer who said he would charge me 2,500. Thank you

Don't use this lawyer, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get another one either. There are plenty of lawyers who charge under $1000 (some including the filing fee of $465) - and I believe there is an angel of a lawyer in North Carolina (you don't need to be in the same state to get her service) who's charging $300.

I went to see one yesterday who's charging me 500 plus the app fee. he's doing all the filing and stuff. I dont have any records of anything. I just wanted to be sure everything was right, and plus my parents want me to get a lawyer. I have top pay 250 plus the app at the time of filing and the other 250 at the end of the process.

Unless you have a (very) complicated case that is way, way too high. If you do, by all means. Otherwise NO NO! I did it on my own as did others. It is not that complicated.

Hey maybe we have the same lawyer !

Unfortunately my mom already has a lawyer and she is intent on using this same guy. He worked on my mom's case and she saw results so she trusts this person.

Although as soon as I saw how simple the application is I really felt the sting of how much I over-payed that lawyer. What hurts even more is that he is taking his sweet time sending my packet out!

My point is synonymous with everyone else's: $2500 is way too much money. He or she may well be a great lawyer but $2500 is still too much based on how simple the application process is.
