From my family's experience, the USCIS was able to handle minor misspelling issues on my parents' birth certificates with common sense. My parents received their green cards eventually even through their names were each misspelled by 1 or 2 letters on the birth certificates.

txgirl you deserve a round of applause for the extra help

Also, my lawyer told me I should submit two passport photos. Even though we haven't seen the form, I'm gonna go ahead and get them.

So if my cousin translates mine, do I still need a notary to sign it?

Doesnt have to be its better if its notarized but as long as your cousin certifies it you should be fine

I know this question is a bit repetitive and has indirectly been answered already, but a direct answer would calm my nerves a bit.

If I only have an expired passport, will that and a copy of my birth certificate be enough for my biometrics appointment? My country of origin doesn't renew passports for those here illegally. It expired about 7 years ago.

I would suggest school IDs but I read that Application Support Centers are only interested in government-issued documents.

For further identification purposes, send a copy of the original but you don't need to translate it because you have a non expired passport.
